On this trip I discovered that our camera does this cool color sampling feature...I love how the reflection of the pants and the pants (and hat) are the only colors in this shot! (PS: he was able to avoid getting wet...mostly because he's not five)
Some of our favorite peeps...we all had rented a house at the coast and had a fantastic weekend hanging out together...good times, good times
We'd like to keep the following fact s secret. Annie has superpowers. She, when she wants to, can grow to an enormous size and dwarf all other people around her. At her age we encourage her to to do this as little as possible as most people around her just become something else she wants to put in her mouth.

As we were puling up to the animal petting farm the sky was a wash in the most beautiful sunset colors...this photo barely does it justice.
For three years in a row we've taken an anniversary picture at this exact photo booth in Tillamook, OR...but this year it was broken...we were SUPER bummed. We did find a cool photo booth in Portland to get this year's installment taken. But we will be calling ahead in 2011 to see if our favorite booth is fixed.

Annie LOVES playing on momma and dada's bed. Today she thought she's hang out like a big girl and read her books in bed. Thanks to my Dad for helping me fix this century old beauty of a bed.
Being a Baliko in this family means you gotta love books. Annie has her very own book shelves for her growing collection of classics like: The Little Red Hen, Good Night Moon, Where the Wild Things are and Things to Know...to name a few.
Annie is still getting the hang of her potty chair and for Teddy bear's sake we hope she figures that our soon.
Annie did an amazing job grilling the turkey this year.
Before Thanksgiving dinner we had a great little walk through the local cemetery...all the trees were in full color and it was quiet and chilly. Annie LOVES her momma!

Annie likes to do routine check-ups on her dolls to make sure they are healthy. She makes sure that her stethoscope is always handy in case some one is feeling under the weather. She takes it with her when she goes for check-ups to see the doctor, too.

We spent Christmas Eve with Aunt Nikki and Uncle Aaron and Counsins Georgie and Hugh. Annie is receiving her gift from Georgie. Kind of an odd flash effect here.
Annie was excited to get to play with her Calico Critters...she loves to take off their little clothes and then get mom and dad to put the little clothes back on. I think I need a smaller set of fingers!
No one could mistake who this gift was for...
Every morning in December, Annie would wake up and her first request would be "ites, ites" Which of course meant "Hey mom or dad could you please turn on the Christmas tree lights." So we did, every morning!
Our little apartment all spruced up on Christmas morning! Almost too pretty to open any of those gifts...almost.
Darla made the most wonderful Cinnamon-Cardamon Rolls for breakfast...these are sure to be an annual tradition!
Christmas morning...pre-present unwrapping! It was a beautiful day...clear and cold outside, warm and cozy inside.

Ok all of us have had one version of this toy, now Annie has one. She especially loves the music portion of this toy and has her own special dance for the "Old McDonald" song...when you visit you can dance along!
Yeah another great stuffed animal to bring to bed with me at night...Yippppeeee!

After opening all of her gifts Annie gathered the collected cast of the nativty scene into her lap...I kinda think she was trying to reassure Jesus and Mary and Joesph that she hadn't lost touch with the true meaning of Christmas. Or maybe she just thought it would be cool to have a lap full of little soft figurines.

This park is close to our house and already being enjoyed by all of us, with many more trips to be had...we actually live close to two great parks. 
Annie's first solo slide! It was not her last that day...she's hooked.
We have 8 mature rhododendron bushes/trees in our new yard...here is just one of the beautiful blooms.

Annie is of course our favorite book to read and she knows it. We're moving in slowly...taking our time to figure out where things should go.

In Long Beach WA, Annie found a nice spot on the boardwalk to take a break.
In Cannon Beach we met up with some friends from AK, one of whom had an great lens on his camera and snapped some crazy shots of all of us.
Annie had just had a good talk with the birds and she was walking back to relay the information to us, her parents...who don't speak seagull.

The Bike was pink, Annie saw no reason why she could not ride it...Dad is credited with the assist. Annie is crazy about bikes and ALL things PINK.
