The Lipstick Incident July 2011

Surprisingly no furniture, carpet or clothes were harmed in the making of this memory! I resisted the impulse to provide captions...and oh did I want to. I thought this post worked better as an art film with no words and no sound track...I have a feeling you've already inserted your own chuckles...I know I do every time I see these. I love the last one where Darla got this great blurred out shot of the hand off of the lipstick to the next brave soul. Enjoy!

Catching up: July visit from Chris and Deb

My brother Chris and his wife Deb drove across country this summer and we got to be one of their stops along the way. We had a great time with them here and enjoyed every minute. Deb was about seven months pregnant at the time (yeah they just had a healthy little boy last week!) and ready to be done driving! Chris was ready to teach his niece and nephew why he is called the "game master" in our family.

Joseph's Three Month Pictures (~September 3, 2011)

Ok not much commentary here tonight but oh the pictures speak for themselves. We are slowly getting caught up and believe or not we've still got some more from July to share but I couldn't wait any longer to show these to you...Joseph OVERLOAD! Enjoy!

Darla found these mini block letters at a garage sale (of course) and we loved how they worked here: GIANT Joseph is on the loose!

Fear not! No small letters were swallowed by any children in the making of this photo shoot...drooled on perhaps and stared at intensely for certain. (we recently finished taking his fourth month photos and all I can say is...they are worth the wait)

Fun with cousins (August 2011)

In early August we went to Newport with Nikki, Aaron, & two of the cutest cousins in the world - Georgie and Hugh! (Samantha and Mei are the other cutest cousins... now, if only they could have come, too...!) I don't remember what Annie was pointing at in this one, but it might have been the sea lions on the docks below.

Annie had been really excited about kites leading up to this trip, and was so excited to have a chance to fly her cousin's butterfly kite. And she flew it successfully! (She continues to be excited about kites, and drew her first one a few days ago: a scribble, with a long line attached to it. It's pretty impressive! We'll feature that in an upcoming post.)
