Getting Caught up on Summer 2011: Montana (part 1)

We spent a week right around the fourth of July in Montana with Darla's parents and siblings. Wonderful time together. If you've never been to BIG SKY country, you are missing a whole lot of nothing... miles and miles of beautiful fields, roads that go on forever and hardly a house per mile...amazing nothingness. Neither of our kids had been to the farm before so it was a great chance to explore of Annie and Joseph did what he did anywhere at one month old...well you'll see.

Annie was almost two on this trip so we figured that she could take to the wide open fields and test her hand at driving. The fashion shades were a must!

It was a bumpy ride but we all made it in one piece. She got out of the truck to head to the fields and inspect how the wheat was growing. In the background of this photo you can see a white set of building...that is where Darla's parents live.

Annie thought the wheat was growing pretty well. But she was getting a headache from dad taking all these photos.

We took a short walk down to some of the lower lands on the farm and saw this beautiful little meandering stream and a field bird on a red fence gate.

Joseph did A LOT of this...which when you're one month old is pretty cute.

Annie encountered her first 900 lb hay bale and she loved it!

Swimming is a MUST when it is 95 and you're two. She spent a lot of time imitating a fish and splashing her parents and cousins.

These roads are like nothing else in MT...we drove down plenty of them and more stories to tell...stay tuned.
