While I've been busy growing a child, Steve has been busy growing a garden! I'm not sure which is harder. Pregnancy has its "work" (if you could call it that - things like going for walks, taking vitamins, and putting my feet up), along with a few discomforts (swollen ankles to match my swollen belly) but the baby pretty much grows itself. It's a rather passive process in some ways.
Steve, on the other hand, has been more actively at work as the caretaker of our little garden plots. Watering three times a day when it is as hot as it has been lately, weeding, thinning, and now harvesting! ... his faithful caretaking (husbandry, I guess it's called - and I like that) is paying off! And we're looking forward to the Fall when we can harvest some first foods for our baby... carrots, yams, and squash, which we'll freeze until it's time to start solid foods.
Steve has proudly tended his urban wheat fields...he was seen today talking to a ladybug asking it to helping out with the brown aphids that have been seen lingering around the kernels. He's already got gardening projects lined up for the baby HA!
Dad we'd thought you'd like this one!
Looks fun, Steve! Nice hat.
